The Club held a Novice Stake at Hawstead Farm by kind permission of Mr D. Gladridge. The judges were Mary Jane Opie, Ricky Moloney, Liz Barnes and Hilly Hoar. We were blessed with sunny weather. The birds flew well and the guns shot extremely well. Many thanks to my helpers. Chris Rose, Sarah Burnell, Karen Wenzel and Penny Davies. The dogs were well tested for steadiness at driven duck drives and handling for both longer and nearer retrieves in defined areas with the game falling in long grass and undulating ground with several ditches.
